That said, I think I found another place where Portaudio's alsa code can
lock up. It only happened to me once, after many weeks of testing the
Portaudio fixes.
I submitted a patch, and it is in Portaudio's git repo.
Unfortunately Portaudio devs were very leary of merging it so close to
release time, so it didn't make it into the release.
