Hi All,

just to let you know that a new version of the unofficial Devuan
minimal live is available for download at:

http://devuan.kalos.mine.nu

Thanks to the suggestions and feedback you provided, I have
implemented a few things which might improve accessibility, namely:

- brighter boot splash screen (white)

- boot menu in black and white to maximise contrast

- accessible boot options, called "access" and "access-toram"
(respectively the second and the fourth in the menu) are the only
ones which "beep" when they are selected.

- audible feedback during boot (a beep every two seconds and a
C-E-G-E-C chime when the boot is over)

- the "access" and "access-toram" boot options enter a dedicated
runlevel (runlevel 4) which autologins root on tty1 and devuan on
tty2-6. The six consoles will beep when they are ready

Unfortunately, I didn't have much time to investigate an easy solution
for network and audio configuration, which remain outstanding issues
for the next releases.

Please feel free to report bugs, comments, and suggestions.

Thank you very much for the support and encouragement you have given
so far, and thanks in advance for any feedback you will be able to
provide.

Best Regards

Maybe something to try for the future and maybe not. Might a script be
included that could make an install iso out of existing content on live
iso which people could then burn to a cdrom or DVD then later use to
install onto a computer? When the script ran, it might collect needed
information from a would-be installer then create a script stored on the
install iso that would do an unattended install of the system (best
probably done on a clean hard drive for safety reasons). I don't know
if preseed is as effective as anaconda-ks for doing an install (i once
used someone's anaconda-ks script to install ubuntu and that script was
on a website in England).
